Sioux games postponed
The UND-New Jersey Tech men's and women's Great West Conference basketball games, scheduled for Thursday at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center, have been postponed.
New Jersey Tech is having travel difficulties because of the weather.
A winter storm is scheduled to hit Newark on Wednesday. The Highlanders were scheduled to leave Newark on Wednesday, but the flights for both the men's and women's teams already have been cancelled. New Jersey Tech is scheduled to play at South Dakota on Saturday. So far, those games are still on.
No word on when the doubleheader at UND will be played. But the best guess would be Sunday. The Sioux women play at Seattle on Tuesday, meaning they're scheduled to leave Grand Forks on Monday.
The Sioux women haven't played in The Betty since Jan. 8. The UND men haven't played a game at The Betty since Dec. 29.
It's been a strange year.
