Kuper signs with Broncos
Former UND standout Chris Kuper has signed a one-year, $2.512 million tender with the Denver Broncos.
Kuper, a starting offensive lineman for Denver, apparently signed the deal Tuesday. The signing takes the three-year starter off the free-agent market.
According to the Denver Post, Kuper becomes the first of the Broncos' five restricted free agents to sign his tender and will be the second to join the team's offseason conditioning program. Quarterback Kyle Orton started conditioning with the team last week.
Kuper was given a first-round tender that is unusually high for an interior offensive lineman. Had he received a second-round tender, he may well have been in great demand from other clubs. Kuper's salary last season $535,000.
