Minn.-Duluth 4, UND 0, final

Yup, covering women's hockey tonight as Brad Schlossman is in Alaska with the Sioux men's hockey team. UND men's game will start at 11 p.m. tonight and Brad will have the story on www.gfherald.com after the game.

No. 1 Minnesota-Duluth beat No. 8 UND 4-0.

Haley Irwin's goal from point-blank range at 8:14 gave the Bulldogs a four-goal cushion midway through the second period.

Duluth dominated the second period, scoring three goals in five minutes. Duluth's Jessica Wong drove home a rebound for a 2-0 lead after UND's Monique Lamoureux-Kolls was stopped twice in a minute by UMD goalie Kim Martin. Thirty-five seconds after Wong's goal, Audrey Cournoyer scored on the power play for a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs' Jocelyne Larocque scored a power play goal for a 1-0 Duluth lead at 10:36 of the first period, moments after UND's Allison Parizek hit the pipe on a shorthanded breakaway.

Nice crowd again at the Ralph. There were 2,366 fans on hand, the fourth-largest crowd to watch a women's hockey game at UND.

Duluth outshot UND 36-23.
