Sioux-Montana gameday: halftime
Somehow, the Sioux are hanging around with a limited offense. Montana leads 13-10 at halftime despite the Sioux gaining only 66 yards in the first two quarters.
But UND's defense is making enough plays to keep the game close. The Sioux had a great chance to take the lead at the end of the half with a first-and-goal at the Montana 7 with 40 seconds to go. Ty Boyle's interception set up the scoring chance.
But UND couldn't convert and had to settle for a 29-yard Zeb Miller field goal as time expired. UND's other score, a 1-yard Mitch Sutton run, was set up by Dominique Hawkins'Â 99-yard kickoff return.
A Sioux turnover resulted in one of the two Montana touchdowns.
UND knew joining the Big Sky was a good thing. Today, the Sioux get to see first-hand why it was good move.
Missoula is all about the Grizzlies.
Brent Goska will start at QB for the Sioux today. Marcus Hendrickson also is expected to play.
Offensive lineman Keith Queoff is expected to play, too.
It's a great atmosphere at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Downtown Missoula has been buzzing all morning. Tailgating is in full swing. And it's a gorgeous setting in the mountains.
It's overcast and the high temperature may not hit 40 today. Weather isn't a factor for Montana fans.
